Is the NFL attempting
to phase out kickers? That’s highly unlikely, it is called football, but if the
first week of preseason is telling us anything it’s that we’re going to see a
lot of 2 point conversions this year. What does that do to kicker value from a
Fantasy Football perspective? Not a whole lot…
The biggest
difference between kickers and the rest of the positions in Fantasy Football is
we aren’t going to discuss them. Below you’ll find our Top 15 rankings, but let’s
be honest; you shouldn’t be drafting a kicker before the last round. There isn’t
much difference between the #1 and #10 kickers in terms of points per
game. We’re talking 1.5 to 2 PPG here.
It isn’t worth drafting them any higher when you can use those positions to
draft one of your sleepers, or a quality back up. If you must have a "top kicker," and you’ll
be at the bottom end of the last round, it’s OK to grab one in the second to
last round. Under no circumstances should you ever reach higher than that.
